My Story:

I love being a runner. I love the rush of adrenaline that comes when you’ve finished a race and I love the complete control you have when you are pushing yourself to the limit. I ran four races last year in the Track and Field State Championships: the 800m, 1500m, 300m hurdles, and the 4x400m relay. I wanted to test my limits and see how well I could perform under pressure. I ended up taking 1st in all of my events and being named Athlete of the Meet. Running has helped me in so many ways throughout my high school years. It has helped me become a better leader, both at school and in my family. It has given me the opportunity to be given scholarships, like the SAMMYS award. It has helped me learn how to push myself and discover I’m stronger than I thought I was.
